Hello students,

Making sentences can be troublesome for some learners, especially those studying English for academic purposes. In this context, however, it is very essential that they are able to understand how to make a complete sentence and in turn create one themselves.
There are key points which you can remember, among others:
  1. a sentence is complete when it has a subject and a predicate (if either of them is missing it will be called a fragment not a sentence),
  2. a subject always takes a noun form; a predicate always takes a verb form,
  3. don't get distracted with an object of preposition for it may be confused as a subject,
  4. never use double subjects, like using the noun and the pronoun at the same time,
  5. be careful of participle for it may be confused as a predicate of the sentence (participle takes a form of -ing and -ed), and finally
  6. avoid making a run-on sentence (using to many modifiers which make the sentence loses focus).
There will be thorough explanations for each of the key points in later posts. For this occasion, let's just practice identifying whether a sentence is correct or faulty. Swipe the sentence to the left it contains a mistake, like not having a subject or a verb, double subjects or verbs, etc., and swipe to right if it is a good sentence. Good luck.

Hope you enjoy learning!
